Satinwood is a hard, fine-grained, pale golden yellow wood of the gum arabic tree. West Indian Satinwood/Jamaican Satinwood is considered superior. Satinwood is hard and durable wood with a satin like sheen, very fine texture and small pores which don’t require filling. Rated as difficulty in terms of workability due to its high density but can turn superbly.
